How does one catch up!? How does a person blend in?!
Don't worry, dear readers, my questions are merely rhetorical. I have everything figured out and I will tell you what to do. Just follow my three pronged approach and you will be a FanMan in no time!
Prong #1: Choose a team! You can't have strong feelings about sports without finding someone to root for. Find a group that represents your favorite city and your favorite noun. If that combination doesn't exist, it's okay to make one up. My team is the Paris Doughnuts.
Protip: SportsFans are impressed by those who root for obscure teams. If they've never heard of your group, even better!
Prong #2: Games-You need to set aside one day a week for your team to play. A dubious advantage to choosing a real team is that the schedules are decided without you. I prefer the hand-crafted approach, so I did all the work myself. This is very labor-intensive, as your team will need rivals. This is where the term fantasy football comes into play. Find a group of fellow enthusiasts to pit your imaginary team against. My club meets at the local comic book shop every Friday. We have created profiles of our players' names, attributes, and skills and roll dice to determine which team succeeds and fails.

Prong #3: Trophies-SportsFans love to celebrate a successful season. After the Super Bowl is over, you are expected to buy a trophy for yourself. You've worked hard and your boys have played hard. A trophy sends a signal to the world which says, "Yes. I enjoy Sports."
